چکیده
We present here our recent results on qubit reset scheme based a quantum-circuit refrigerator (QCR). In particular, we use the photon-assisted quasiparticle tunneling through superconductor–insulator–normal-metal–insulator–superconductor junction to controllably decrease energy relaxation time of during QCR operation. experiment, transmon with dispersive readout. Charge qubit coupled to an intense microwave electromagnetic field in a superconducting Nb device: evidence for photon-assisted quasiparticle tunneling.
We study a superconducting charge qubit coupled to an intensive electromagnetic field and probe changes in the resonance frequency of the formed dressed states. At large driving strengths, exceeding the qubit energy-level splitting, this reveals the well known Landau-Zener-Stückelberg interference structure of a longitudinally driven two-level system. For even stronger drives, we observe a sign...
متن کاملDemonstrating a driven reset protocol for a superconducting qubit.
Qubit reset is crucial at the start of and during quantum information algorithms. We present the experimental demonstration of a practical method to force qubits into their ground state, based on driving appropriate qubit and cavity transitions. Our protocol, called the double drive reset of population, is tested on a superconducting transmon qubit in a three-dimensional cavity. Using a new met...

Superconducting circuits have attracted growing interest in recent years as a promising candidate for fault-tolerant quantum information processing. Extensive efforts have always been taken to completely shield these circuits from external magnetic fields to protect the integrity of the superconductivity. Here we show vortices can improve the performance of superconducting qubits by reducing th...
متن کاملSuppression of tunneling in a superconducting persistent-current qubit
We consider a superconducting persistent-current qubit consisting of a three-junction superconducting loop in an applied magnetic field. We show that by choosing the field, Josephson couplings, and offset charges suitably, we can perfectly suppress the tunneling between the two oppositely directed states of circulating current, leading to a vanishing of the splitting between the two qubit state...
متن کاملProtected qubit based on a superconducting current mirror
We propose a qubit implementation based on exciton condensation in capacitively coupled Josephson junction chains. The qubit is protected in the sense that all unwanted terms in its effective Hamiltonian are exponentially suppressed as the chain length increases. We also describe an implementation of a universal set of quantum gates. Most gates also offer exponential error suppression. The only...
